On Thursday, thousands of AT&T customers across the country awoke to a strange sight — their phones’ service bars had been collectively replaced with the “SOS” message.

Naturally, as one would be at the discovery that a device worth thousands of dollars suddenly no longer works, customers were peeved, using various WiFis to lament about the ongoing situation.

“Been staring at my phone since 3 thinking my bill payment was late or some fix it #ATT,” wrote @itzJustNiCC on Twitter.

“I know I better see some credits on my bill next month,” joked @darleneturner53 alongside the hashtag #ATTDown.

Though the carrier remained tight-lipped about the reason behind the outage, simply reassuring customers that they “are working urgently to restore service” in a statement shared to their website several weren’t having it, shitposting out their frustrations.
